Every year there is a pilgrimage attended by thousands of believers, who walk from Cusco to the church of the Lord of Huanca, in the village of San Salvador, a 40 km walk distance.
Our journey begins in the village of Huaccoto at 4000 metres above sea level, from where we start pedalling through a long, flat paramo of humid mosses with spectacular Andean views, and then we reach 4200 metres, where the fun downhill starts.
The Señor de Huanca trail is definitely very technical . It has many sharp curves with big and high rocks, exposed areas and narrow paths. It is the perfect trail for anyone with enough experience in Enduro and Downhill mountain biking.
The route ends in the village of San Salvador, from where we can do the "San Salvador DH" route if we still have energy left.
